about

im going to say a lot less specific stuff about this song because i think it is easier to read the meaning into each phrase.

this song was incredibly easy to write although it came to me in pieces.
it guided me more than i guided it... that is why the structure is kind of unconventional. im still not sure what the structure is i just know how to play it.

this track only took one take in the studio so what you hear is the first run through of it.

so that's pretty cool. maybe went so well beCause i didn't impose a structure onto it as i do some of the others, and it kind of carries me along and lets me just express a feeling naturally.

this song is basically about leaving any relationship or situation where you are not able to be your authentic self or are unappreciated

it could be a marriage or a job or anything

move on to self-actualize and embrace your passions. that's what taking your guitar off the wall and using it is.

leave those who don't believe in you or try to hold you back behind. it will be alright. they will be okay without you.

also don't be afraid of losing something or someone. most of the time if they leave you, you never had them in the first place. can't lose what you never had.

go out and be you and do what you need or want to do.

lyrics

GUITAR OFF THE WALL
I hate when we fight
We do it every night
Would it make things right
If I gave in to flight
If I run away

Everything’s fine
Just sign on the line
Just sign on the line
And we’ll put it behind us
 don’t run away

Do you see me
goin off somewhere?

Do you see
Do you see me
Goin off somewhere

I been listenin’
I been standin’ out your door
I aint gonna tell you what I heard
and I aint gonna let you know
what im gonna do
before I do it

Im gonna take my guitar off the wall
And im gonna use it

Can’t please most anyone
Anytime anyway

said I aint gonna be able to please
Anyone
Most anytime anyway

So I might as well do it

I hate when we fight
We do it every night
Would it make things right
If I gave in to flight
If I runaway

Everything’s fine
Just sign on the line
Just sign on the line
And we’ll put it behind us
 don’t run away

You can’t be sad
Cause this ain’t over
It never started

How can nothing
Leave you brokenhearted?

Remember in this life
You can’t spend what you aint got
And you can’t lose it
Im gonna take my guitar off the wall
And im gonna use it
